Gregorian celebrates 25-year anniversary with a new tour
The world’s most successful choir, Gregorian, is coming to Estonia in February with its quarter of a century anniversary tour “The Best of 25 Years – Masters of Chant”. The choir’s otherworldly sound with a powerful concert production makes for a memorable experience that received a standing ovation from the Estonian audience last year. The new jubilee concert will take place on the 12th of February at Alexela Concert Hall.
With over 2000 shows in 35 countries and more than 10 million albums sold, Gregorian is the most successful choir in the world. For 25 years, Gregorian have thrilled millions of people worldwide with their choreographed shows and their ability to switch seamlessly from classical chorales to pop and rock songs. Their concerts have set new standards.
"This Greatest Hits tour is a celebration of Gregorian's history and achievements as well as an opportunity to say thank you to our fans around the world who show their love and support by coming to our shows time and time again” says Gregorian’s founding member and successful producer Frank Peterson. “The compilation of this anniversary show will be a spectacular journey through our band's history – a look back at some of the highlights from around 20 productions that Gregorian have performed over the last 25 years. We can't wait to present this new show to our audiences and revive these wonderful highlights" he adds.
At the end of 2024 and thus in time for the anniversary tour, Frank Peterson will release a new Gregorian album. The album will include new songs as well as re-recordings of some well-known Gregorian classics.
Gregorian’s music consists of harmonic vocals and instrumental support. Gregorian has performed at arenas, theatres and churches in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The choir’s repertoire consists of nearly 300 songs from classical music to pop and modern rock.
In 1999, Gregorian released their first album called “Masters Of Chant”, which became a ten-album series that was published until 2015. The choir has also released several other albums, which include a Christmas album, various best-of collections, live concert recordings and music video albums. Gregorian’s hits include “Moment Of Peace”, “The Sound Of Silence” (Simon & Garfunkel), “Hallelujah” (Leonard Cohen) and “Ave Maria” (Schubert).
Tickets to Gregorian’s concert will go on sale from the 22nd of August at 10:00AM starting from 39€ on the Piletilevi webpage and box offices.
