“+-” on prantsuse-norra teatritegija Corentin JPM Leveni audiovisuaalne debüütlavastus, mis etendus esmakordselt 2020. aastal Oslos Black Boxi teatris.

Lavastuses jagab autor oma isiklikku lugu HIVi põdemisest ning selle mõjust kuuludes kväär-kogukonda. 

Lavastus küsib kuidas elada edasi HIV-positiivsena ning diagnoosile järgnenud halvustava suhtumisega? Kuidas seista silmitsi oma enda kehaga, sotsiaalsete privileegidega ning seksuaalelust tõukuvate tagajärgedega? Lavastuse käigus jagatud lugu pakub mõtteainet viiruse käes vaevleva keha ja vaimu haprusest.

Corentin JPM Leven on prantsuse-norra etenduskunstnik, kes elab ja töötab Oslos. Ta on lõpetanud Norra Teatriakadeemia stsenograafia erialal (2015), millele on järgnenud mitmekülgne karjäär töötades multidistsiplinaarsete projektidega.

Leveni looming on tugevalt seotud kväär-kogukonna pärandi ja ajalooga. Isiklikest kogemustest lähtuvalt tegeleb ta kväär-identiteedi, -keha, -kogukonna ja -ajaloo mõtestamisega. Kunstnik uurib seejuures mälu ja monumendi vahele jäävat ruumi. Leven on pälvinud Norra kunstnikupalga stipendiumi nii stsenograafias kui näitlemises (2023-2024).

“+-” is an audiovisual performance by Franco-Norwegian artist Corentin JPM Leven which first premiered in 2020 at the Black Box Theatre in Oslo.

Leven shares his personal journey with HIV, and the impact the virus still has on a queer person’s life, despite the significant scientific and medical advancements made in handling and suppressing the virus. 

As a young person, how do you accept a life with HIV and the lifelong fight against stigmatization that follows? How can he confront his own body, social privileges, and the stigma, as well as the intimate and sexual implications of the virus in modern-day society? This story offers a reflection on the vulnerability of the human body and the psychological effects of the virus on a young mind.

Corentin JPM Leven is a Franco-Norwegian artist who resides in Oslo. He completed his education in scenography at the Norwegian Theater Academy and later diversified into multi-disciplinary practices after graduating in 2015. Leven's work is deeply connected to the heritage and history of the Queer community. By drawing on personal experiences, Leven delves into a range of issues related to Queer identity, the Queer body, the Queer community, and Queer history. Leven's main focus is to explore the space between memory and monument. In 2019, Leven received the Norwegian Art Working Grant in scenography, and in 2023-2024, received the Norwegian Art Working Grant in acting.
