Miksteater "My mind was forgotten behind the mountains... " (Estonia)

"My mind is behind the mountains" is a theatre show for visually impaired children (from age 7+)  and their relatives and those who are interested in experiencing how such a child sees and perceives the world.

During the performance, the audience together with the performers reach the Land of Dreaming, where they can hear, perceive, taste, smell and touch different experiences and become part of the story, which helps dreams arise again.

If one of our senses is missing or partially functioning, what and how do the other senses perceive? What happens if you put all the participants in the show, both visually impaired and so-called normal sighted, on an equal footing? If a perfectly healthy person is put in the position of a visually impaired person, what will happen to him? Maybe through shared experience we get to know and understand people with disabilities better?

This performance is a good opportunity to understand a little better and to notice the world, which is different and is as varied as the world of a visually impaired person.

The play is suitable for a visually impaired school-aged child and his family or a class that includes a visually impaired child. There are seats for a maximum of 20 people for each performance. The show is not meant for the completely blind.

NB! At the beginning of the performance, all participants are given glasses imitating low vision, which are recommended to be worn throughout the performance. The production team ensures a safe journey to the performance venues, which are located on different floors of the museum.
