Perhaps best known as lead singer and songwriter with the band Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Nick Cave’s artistic output is as ever-evolving as it is prolific. With a creative career that spans over four decades, Cave has worked across a diverse number of disciplines as a solo and collaborative musician, film score composer, author, screenwriter, and writer of his weekly blog “The Red Hand Files,” and more recently as a ceramic artist.
Full of intensity and lyrical depth, Cave's unique signature sound captivates the audience with the dark aesthetic of the lyrics and intense stage presence. Content-wise, he tries to discuss such fundamental values as death, religion, love and violence. Musically, his work is classified in such a wide range from post-punk and goth to art and experimental rock.
The collaboration between Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood and Nick Cave began in 2022, when the first one joined Cave and Warren Ellis's band on the Australian leg of their tour. Next he joined Cave's North American tour in September 2023. Last year, Greenwood contributed bass on The Bad Seeds' “Wild God” album and filled in for the band's original bassist Martyn Casey during his illness.
Outside of music, Colin Greenwood is passionate about photography, and one of his achievements available to the wider public is the book "How to Disappear: A Portrait of Radiohead", published in the fall of 2024, comprising his photographs of bandmates taken between 2003 and 2016.
