Camouflage Live Tour 2024 (Rewind to The Future And Goodbye) - 27.10.2023 asendus
The German synth-pop legend Camouflage to perform in Estonia on 27th of October next year, the legendary German synth-pop group Camouflage will perform in Alexela Concert Hall as part of their "Rewind To The Future And Goodbye" tour. The group's best known hits include "The Great Commandment", "Love Is a Shield", "Suspicious Love", "Bad News", "X-Ray", and "Me and You".
The German synth-pop legend, who was christened by the critics as “the German Depeche Mode”, was officially formed in 1984 by the vocalist Marcus Meyn and keyboard players Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. In 1986, the band won the Hessen Radio song contest. A year later they re-recorded their debut single "The Great Commandment" which climbed to the top of different charts, among others reaching No 1 in the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
The group's debut album "Voices & Images" was released in 1988. It was inspired by the new wave of synth-pop although clearly and recognisably influenced by Depeche Mode. With the album "Methods of Silence", released a year later, the group expanded their sound palette by adding violins, saxophones, and guitars. After Oliver Kreyssig left the group for personal reasons, Maile and Meyn continued as a duo with the assistance of several studio musicians. The year 1991 saw the release of "Meanwhile" – an album that broke away from the synth-pop genre even more and included a larger instrumental section. As grunge became all the rage and synth-pop lost most of its ground on college radios, Camouflage soon found itself with no record deal.
Camouflage has released a total of 8 studio albums. The last one called "Greyscale" saw daylight in 2015.
Anders Melts (Röntgen/R2, Beats From The Vault, Terminal record store) said that when talking about synth-pop, one cannot but mention Depeche Mode.
"Next to it, Camouflage is undoubtedly one of the most significant groups of the genre. These guys have followed their own path. They have not been influenced too much by Depeche Mode but have been skilful in integrating these influences perfectly into their music. Already since the 80s, they have created unique albums and hits characterised by a distinctive style. Although their albums are infrequent, they have always been in the picture," said Melts. "Camouflage evokes certain feelings of nostalgia, but at the same time, even today, they sound more like a young group on fire rather than a complacent old retro-fart."
A limited number of Camouflage concert tickets priced at 49 euros will be available in Piletilevi sales points all over Estonia as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 26.
The concert is organized by Artist & Music Factory.
