Musical Puppet Show "Suur Tõll" – A Special Celebration of Estonia's Independence Day!

On this Estonian Republic’s birthday, February 24, 2025, you are invited to experience an unforgettable wordless musical puppet show based on the legend of the giant from Saaremaa. Combining music, movement, and the visual language of puppetry, the performance tells the deepest and most touching layers of our folk traditions. Come along on a journey into the mystical world of Estonian folklore! The puppet show “SUUR TÕLL” brings to life the story of a giant from Saaremaa, whose actions and thoughts can shape our own destiny. The performance encourages reflection: "From our dark thoughts, a dark man is born, following us. And if you submit to him, he will destroy everything dear to you."

The performance is WORDLESS, focusing on puppetry, visual storytelling, and music. It is best suited for older audiences, offering deeper interpretive space.

The poetry of Juhan Liiv is recited by Rein Agur, the performance is accompanied by enchanting music created by Xenia Zemskaja-Chertkova, and the detailed and memorable visuals designed by Svetlana Leht add a touch of magic to the production.
