Marcus Miller Live in Tallinn: Jazz Legend and Cultural Icon to Perform at Alexela Concert Hall

The two-time Grammy winner, UNESCO Artist for Peace and the most influential jazz musician of our time, Marcus Miller promises a night that will immerse fans in the mastery of jazz, R&B, soul, and funk – a genre-bending journey few artists have crafted as vibrantly.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Marcus Miller has worked with the giants of modern music, leaving an indelible mark on a vast array of styles and sounds. His bass guitar has been the backbone of timeless hits, from Bill Withers' "Just the Two of Us" to Luther Vandross' "Never Too Much,"  to songs from Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Elton John, Al Jarreau, and Bryan Ferry to name a few.
Beyond his Grammy accolades, he holds the prestigious 2013 Edison Award for Lifetime Achievement in Jazz and the 2010 Victoire du Jazz from France, affirming his status as a global music legend.

Miller’s distinctive, innovative style combines technical brilliance with the soulful grooves of funk, which has led Bass Player Magazine to name him one of the ten most influential jazz musicians of his generation. A longtime collaborator of Miles Davis, Miller played a crucial role in defining Davis' sound in the 1980s, co-producing and composing for the groundbreaking album Tutu. Miller’s contributions to this critically acclaimed album have solidified it as a touchstone in contemporary jazz.

As a composer, Miller’s talent spans film and television, having created the memorable soundtracks for films like Boomerang, Above The Rim, Two Can Play That Game, and Marshall, which received an Oscar nomination. Known for his work on Everybody Hates Chris and his two radio shows – Jazz with Marcus Miller on SiriusXM and Transatlantic Jazz on the UK’s Jazz FM – Miller has truly become a cross-continental ambassador of jazz.

His recent works, including Afrodeezia and Laid Black, explore the cultural intersections of jazz with global influences, blending the traditional with the modern through Afrobeat, hip-hop, R&B, and gospel. Miller’s music speaks to the complexities of cultural identity and is a testament to his belief in music’s power to unite.

The Tallinn performance is part of a world tour that celebrates Miller’s illustrious career and new musical directions. Jazz lovers and music aficionados alike will experience a night of unparalleled artistry as Miller showcases decades of hits, collaborations, and his unique, genre-crossing sound.
