Gazebo (Paul Mazzolini) was born in Beirut in the family of an Italian diplomat. He spent his childhood in various countries, including Jordan, the United Kingdom, Denmark and France, which shaped his musical taste and international style. His father taught him five languages, and his mother, singer Sonya, passed on her musical talent to him. She supported his love for music in every way possible and became his first producer at the beginning of his career.

He studied French literature at the university, worked as a guitarist in London for a while and decided to make music his career. He chose the stage name “Gazebo” (an open garden house as a landscaping element) because the word sounded catchy, which was important for radio DJs of the time.

Having returned to Rome, Gazebo released his debut single “Masterpiece” (1982), which became a hit in Europe and Asia. In 1983, he signed a contract with Baby Records and launched the album “Gazebo” (1983), which included his main hit “I Like Chopin”. The song topped the charts in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and reached the TOP 10 in the UK. The hit sold over 8 million copies and earned him the Top European Chart Act award from Music Week and the Vela d'Oro award in Riva del Garda.

Despite experiencing the peak of his popularity in the 80s, Gazebo continues to release music as a songwriter, arranger and producer, remaining a retro-disco cult figure. During his busy career, he has released 18 albums and has written songs for other artists in the genres of italo-disco and synth-pop. These days, he acts as a producer for young artists, collaborates actively with musicians from different countries and continues to tour around the world.

In addition to music, Gazebo has purchased the village of Borgo Melograno in Tuscany, where he plans to open a recording studio and a cozy resort among picturesque landscapes. Oil and wine from Gazebo while on the way? Sounds appealing!
