ESTONIAN NATIONAL OPERA CHAMBER CONCERTS
Chamber music tradition, born in the courts and salons, gives the audience an opportunity to listen to music in a more intimate environment and creates a special bond between the listeners and musicians. 119th season introduces a series of chamber concerts of beautiful music both from international and Estonian composers. The cafe is opern during the concert.
October 3, 2024 in the Estonian National Opera Chamber Hall
The opening concert of the season features music for the clarinet, cello, violin, and the piano. There are many composers who have written music to these beautiful instruments and for this evening we have chosen “Creation” by Óscar Navarro for the clarinet, violin, cello and paino, Sonata for two violins Op. 56 by Sergei Prokofiev, Trio for the clarinet, cello and piano by Nino Rota and Passacaglia by Johan Halvorsen for two violins on the themes of Georg Friedrich Händel.
Soloists: Maria Goršenina (violin), Adrián Bravo Lopez (violin), Seulki Lee (cello), Alexander Avramenko (clarinet) and Jakob Teppo (piano).
AN EVENING OF ITALIAN MUSIC

Italian music brings the warmth, love and passion of sunny Italy to the rainy evenings of Estonian November. The concert features virtuous and emotional melodies by Paolo Tosti, Ottorino Respighi, Gioachino Rossini and Ernesto De Curtis.
Soloists: Aare Saal (baritone), Sigrid Kuulmann (violin), Edmunds Altmanis (clarinet), Tarmo Eespere (piano).
MUSIC WITH WIND INSTRUMENTS

The winter concert pays a tribute to composers that celebrate important anniversaries. The concert features “Carnival Overture” by Antonín Dvořák, “Le tombeau de Couperin” by Maurice Ravel, “Suite Mignonne” by Jean Sibelius, “Quintettino” by Arvo Pärt, “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” by Richard Strauss and “Baby Elephant Walk” by Henry Mancini from the movie “Hatari!”.

SOUNDS OF ESTONIA

On the brink of the Independence Day of the Estonian Republic, we present a festive programme that unites Estonian music, dance and poetry. The concert features music by Mart Saar, Eduard Tubin and Heino Eller. The symbiosis of genres is brought to you by ballet soloist Ketlin Oja, opera soloist Reigo Tamm and pianist Jaan Ots. Happy anniversary, Estonia!
ROMANTIC FRENCH MELODIES

Spring is a time when the whole world shakes off the frost of winter and welcomes love to their hearts! We invite you to listen to romantic French music in an intimate environment of the Estonian National Opera Chamber Hall. The programme focuses on Gabriel Fauré, the pioneer of French chamber music, whose 180th anniversary is celebrated all over the world. The concert features songs by Gabriel Fauré and Claude Debussy, Debussy’s cycle “Trois Chansons de Bilitis”, Jacque Ibert’s cycle “Chansons de Don Quichotte” and Francis Poulenc’s the songs from the cycle “Banalités” performed by Elena Brazhnyk (soprano), Karis Trass (mezzo-soprano), Raiko Raalik (baritone), Ave Wagner (piano).

The concert offers you a refined musical experience with W. A. Mozart’s songs, six nocturnes, Schönberg’s “Two Songs” Op. 1 and “Four Songs” Op. 2 as well as duets by Mendelssohn.
